I’m not sure about chains, but if you want Steak, or Italian food, there are loads of nice (expensive) restaurants to choose from. Shanghai is perhaps the best city in China if you want to eat western food.
The chains…MD, KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s Pizza.
I am not sure about high end western chain restaurants.
There are a lot of small (and excellent) foreigner-owned and operated restaurants thought. There is a street close to Garden Hotel with only foreign restaurants…I had the best magrita there.
