We ordered a take out from Pick up Stix yesterday, using a buy one/get one free coupon -( Chicken House Special) It turned out to be the residue that is left over in the pan after frying chicken pieces and didn’t even have any vegetables as it said it would on the menu., mixed with very burnt, salty “sauce”. What a disaster. After complaining, I was given another coupon for another meal.My point is; are coupons an excuse that some restaurants use to give poor quality food or something less than you would get if a coupon wasn’t used? What are your experiences?
* any restaurant where any of the servers or cooks would dare spit in, eat off of plates of customers, or do other things that they wouldn’t like done to their own food, should be fired on the spot, and the health department should be contacted. How disgusting is that?
Dining out :Does using restaurant coupons alter food quality?
Camellia asked:

Depends on the restaurant, but honestly.. if they are a good company that respect their patrons, your coupon shouldn’t mean anything. they should treat you as gold, because you are a potential long term patron.
Think of it this way, you are trying them out before you commit. When you commit to them and may return, you are investing your hard earned dollars into them. They should treat you as the most valuable gold ever.. and if they can’t do that, ask yourself why you would want to invest in them? just my opinion
No I have all had good experiences with coupons.I used to work in restaurants and they also gave good services even when you use coupons it did not matter if you where useing a coupon.
I dont think so. It may also depend on the scale of the place your going to. I find most real Chefs and cooks respect their jobs and profession too much to resort to purposely altering a customers food. That one customer isnt worth risking a job they enjoy.
We have a Birthday Club, where you get your age % off your entree, and as much as we **** selling a Rack of Lamb for $3.40, they wouldnt put any less work into it then someone paying the full price. If anything it hurts the establishment.
It definetely can
sometimes at fast food I get colder than usual burgers (that have sat under heat lamp)
No not ur food… The cook doesn’t even know a cupon is being used, besides why would he care? Now if you whip out a cupon as soon as you sit down shove it at ur sever and say “I have a Cupon!” then it will effect your serves! The sever will asume you are a cheap scate that is not going to tip. So ur food will be left in the window to dry out or eaten off of or spit in or dropped on the floor and picked back up and served or other creative this I have seen severs do to peoples food…
The moral of the story? Be nice and present your cupon when you pay for ur bill…

I tend to be wary of coupons for restaurants. One wonders what they might be trying to get rid of in their kitchen. The early bird coupons to lure diners in at early hours are one thing. Also a discount coupon would be okay. Buy one/get one free is suspect.
